Steamed Plantains

Ok so this isn’t really a recipe because quite frankly there isn’t much to it. But it a cooking method that provides yet another way to enjoy plantains so let’s get into in. By steaming our plantains we retain a lot of it nutrients and skip the increase oil and cholesterol that comes from frying. In Cameroon where I’m from, boiled plantain is a staple. But since I started steaming my plantains, I can hardly look back. I like this method especially for those over ripened plantains as I find that boiling makes them too soft.
